Web3 and Web 3.0 are different concepts with the same goal of solving the current problems of the Internet.
Web3 will change the Internet with blockchain and decentralization, while Web 3.0 will bring the semantic web, AI, machine learning and the like to the Internet.
The term “Web3” was coined in 2014 by Gavin Wood, co-founder of Ethereum and founder of Polkadot.
The basic idea behind Web3 is to fight the power of centralized companies and give people back control over their assets and data.
The Web3 concept implies that this can be achieved with a decentralized infrastructure built on a blockchain. People will be able to control their personal data and the content they create. Web3 will also lower the entry threshold into the financial industry.
Web 3.0, in turn, is like the third generation of the Internet, in which Web sites and applications will be able to process information almost like a human, thanks to the semantic web, AI and similar technologies.
Both Web3 and Web 3.0 are trying to create a new version of the Internet and solve Web 2.0 problems. But their approaches are fundamentally different. However, nothing prevents them from developing in parallel and coexist.
